1.5 SoulCircling: finding inner resources for getting through tough times-Kenneth H. Hamilton, MD, Founder, Principal Organization: H.O.P.E. and Stephen D. Thompson, Concepts to Action
SoulCircling, a workshop service of H.O.P.E. since 1997, precisely follows Gibran’s statement of the goal of career development. It focuses on inventorying the gifts of strength implied in one’s DNA, claiming the passion of one’s soul, and discovering the contract between the two that best utilizes those gifts in service of one’s fellow human beings; for in that contract lie all the resources which make it possible to get through tough times. Participants will develop an awareness of their own resources and how to evoke them in their clients

Ken Hamilton, MD, grew up in a healing family environment of medical doctors, social scientists, and Christian Science practitioners. From his earliest years, he knew that health was somehow related to love and the Source of all things, and the relationship fascinated him. At eleven years of age, he began a painful struggle to understand this. It became his life’s goal. At fifteen, he committed himself to becoming a physician, and would later specialize in general surgery.
