Annual Business Meeting

June 6, 2014

 Called to order at 12: 55 pm by Jim Peacock, President MCDA.

 1. Welcome, introductions and announcements.

Accomplishments: Career Café – Portland, Lewiston, Augusta, Bangor (second Mon in Sept)

Membership benefits: career café; networking; small professional development workshops – LinkedIn with Sabrina Woods, Don Asher, Ethics of Advocacy workshop, Conference (75 attendees), monthly newsletter, individual outreach, mentor program, LinkedIn group.

Goals: offer a variety of professional development opportunities and topics, possible return of Richard Pyle, create President Elect position

Encouragement to membership: become engaged, generate topic ideas, offer what you can to the association

II. Treasurer’s Report was read.

Diane Anderson reported that accounts equal, balances are good.

Motion to accept made by James Westhoff.  Seconded by Steve Pound. The Treasurers Report was voted on and passed with no opposition.

III. Membership Report

Tom Novak reported that we currently have 79 members for 2014-2015.

IV. Approval of 2013 Business Meeting minutes.

Motion to accept by Deb Walsh and seconded by Leslie Smith. Passed with no opposition.

V. Marketing Report

James Westhoff reported out on the marketing committee, which will meet by Aug. Monthly newsletter – send information for next month by 27th of month.

VI. By laws update

Details presented by James Westhoff. President has 4 year commitment, 1 as pres-elect, 2 as president, 1 as past-president. Every other year a president elect will be elected.

Spring of 2015 – President, Secretary and Treasurer will be elected.

Spring of 2016 and every even year – President Elect will elected.

Motion to accept by Deb Walsh, Seconded by Steve Pound. Meeting adjourned.
